A couple of years ago, I spun this yarn and Charlotte commented that she liked the color so it became a little Milo for her precious new baby. I loved the way it turned out and thought to myself, if only I was blessed with another little baby of my own I would knit another handspun Milo. I honestly never expected that I would.
Fast forward to this summer... I had this lovely yarn hanging around on a peg rack - my favorite handspun, chain plied to form stripes. It was maybe a sportweight so I cast on for an 18 mo Milo. It just fits around my baby's deliciously chubby tummy. My Ravelry notes on this are sadly vague but I think I knit it on size US 3 and it took about 250 yards.
And with the leftovers? Well, it's sad to sacrifice handspun but it bought me a couple of hours on the couch watching the football game with my husband.
