as cozy as spring

On a hot July day...

Two things occurred to me recently.

1) I make my financial decisions based not upon reason or logic or long term goals, but upon what numbers I like best.  Multiples of 4.  Everything in multiples of 4.

2) I donate more to the second collection at church because I feel sorry for it.

I'm sure everyone has quirks like that (right, RIGHT?).  I think it's just funny that I could go so long without being aware of them.

I usually avoid asking questions in blog posts because it sounds like a shameless plea for comments but I would love to hear about any weird quirks from my friendly readers!  

Name that Memory

Y'all, I need some help.  I had this vague memory this morning of bicycle license plates connected with the taste of a sweet cereal.  I can't quite put my finger on what it is I am remembering.  Some sort of marketing campaign from the 80s?  Anyone?  Honey Comb, maybe?

Camp Snoopy

Do y'all remember these?  Circa 1983?  I loved these as a child and this ended up being my very first ebay purchase several years ago.  I managed to find the whole set, unused for a steal (ahem, $9.00 total!).  There are plenty more available, if you are Peanutty like us.

And maybe these aren't fine china or anything, but they are right up there in my china cabinet with my wedding place setting and transferware.  They make me smile.  I'm not sure if this is anything post worthy, but I thought they might make someone else smile as well.

There's plenty of time to get your submissions in for the Loveliness of Gardens fair on Monday.  I'll put a time of about 6:00 tomorrow night, in pencil.  It doesn't have to be brand new - I remember someone's gorgeous azalea photos from last year that might have to be included regardless.

Welcome back Spring

Won't you stay awhile?

I am really bad about making plans for a particular day and then forgetting the day entirely (see every single feast day).  Every year we plan parties to celebrate the change of seasons.  I have rarely actually done it.   Kim's post started me thinking that maybe I try to hard to have everything neatly coordinated and perfectly themed.  So it's still early spring but we made Popsicles and beaded ladybug bracelets anyway.  I don't think Lucy will remember when we did it but that we did do it.
