Fresh off the needles! This is Wee Ambrosia. It's a super sweet pattern with well designed shaping. I haven't knit anything like the floating hexagon element before but it was easy and knit up quickly. It is a cute enough finished garment to make up for the fact that I really cannot stand the color. At least not now. My knitting has to match my mood and while I might love this next fall, I'm not feeling it right now. The yarn is Amy Butler Belle Organic Aran in Robin's Egg. It's a nice yarn - a bit splitty and I would categorize it as lighter than aran. My gauge, on US 7 needles, was way off and I went up to the largest size to fit my 2 year old.
It fits quite nicely on our daughter and she loves it. She calls in her fur coat and refused to take it off, even in June. I think it will be a good outer layer for some of our milder winter days or for cuddling around the campfire.
Next up: Thick worsted weight wool socks for my other two babies. Happy Monday, friends!
