Cassia is one of my favorite baby patterns. It's a simple knit, no seams, and it fits beautifully. I added sleeves to this one because I had knit a bonnet to match and a sleeveless dress + bonnet just doesn't make sense (neither does knitting a cozy warm church outfit in late March in Texas but it was my vision). Kindly ignore the funky stitches on the garter stitch hem there. That was my attempt to fix something.
The yarn is Rowan Belle Organic (in 'Peony') , a 50/50 wool cotton blend. It's a nice yarn, though I'm not sure how well it will wear. I knit it on a US 4 for a little tighter, hopefully longer wearing fabric.
So, as I said, I knit this with a matching bonnet - the Modern Baby Bonnet from Vintage Knits for Modern Babies. It's the third time I've knit this bonnet. I'm kind of obsessed with bonnets in general and this is my favorite pattern.
We had one last(?) cold snap this weekend which killed my newly planted tomatoes but allowed her to wear this darling little outfit to Palm Sunday Mass. Now, on to project Easter dress! But first to care for overtired baby!
