In the spring I began stitching my scraps into hexagons for something. I don't know what yet but I figured I was one step closer to... something.
I don't really have time for proper patchwork now. What I do have is a clunky computer and a single phone that is hooked to the wall (I don't get along with cordless phones - every single one has been thrown violently against the wall at some point. I'm not terribly hot tempered except when it comes to malfunctioning cordless phones.) Anyway! So a minute here and there? I have that.
I pulled out the scrap box again this week and set myself up with a few needles and paper templates and have gotten about 40 done just in the past few days. I mean, the time is going to pass anyway so I might as well stitch up some hexagons.
This is my pink box.
It is a very satisfying project. My big box of tiny scraps annoys me and I love seeing them turned into something useful. It's also nice to revisit old sewing projects along the way - the little bit of a dress I made for my daughter or a leftover piece from pajama pants for my son.
Look who is sitting up! Not reliably, of course, but she can hold it for a bit! She's running a bit behind in milestones, possibly because she was early but really because we just never put her down! No regrets.
I hope, hope, hope to get some seed planting done this weekend and wrap up the February Baby Sweater. Also: I worked my tail off last weekend cleaning house and preparing lesson plans. It was time well spent. The house didn't stay clean for even a day, but school has gone very well this week. I created tables for weekly goals AND a daily check list (which we've done in the past) and it is just flat out necessary right now. I can't recall what I'm supposed to be doing at any given moment and the daily list has made a huge difference.
OK, I will be back tomorrow for a book post. Have a super Thursday!
