I was worried I would oversleep this morning so I just stayed up after the baby awoke at 4:00. On my own for two hours I made the week's lesson plans, finished the laundry AND ironing, mopped the kitchen, cleaned the fridge, sketched a skirt pattern, paid the bills, and tidied the house. All of this freed me to sew a bit this afternoon and read and read and read to my children. A very happy start to the week!
My husband is home again. This is the first week of the past six that he hasn't been packing his bag to head out of town. We managed well enough with a bit of help from my family but I was rather frantic the whole time. Anyway, it's over. He was beside me at Mass today and he's on the couch now watching football with the baby. I love my husband. It's a happy, happy Sunday.
Only because I know I won't finish otherwise, I've started Christmas preparations. The baby is getting a few small handmade gifts. Her cozy quilt is almost ready for quilting and I'm trying to talk myself out of hand quilting it. I don't really have the time, right? AND I have another quilt in the works. I finally located enough plaids to make a quilt for my son which will also be a Christmas gift. These are backed with the most delightful soft, warm, woven cotton fabric and I have this image in my mind of all three of my children curled up in their quilts around the fire this winter.
Pinned and ready for quilting!
