This weekend, we welcomed a new little Catholic into the family - my brother's youngest daughter and my newest goddaughter! I had the idea for a sweet baptismal cake made out of lemon madeleines, the shell being a symbol of baptism. It turned out exactly like I had pictured and that almost never happens.
I made a double batch of this recipe (+ 1/4 tsp baking powder) and dipped the warm cakes in a light lemon glaze to get them to kind of stay put and because it's yummy. Kind of a poor photo, but you get the idea.
Since we just joined a new parish (love!) I have to wait until we can baptize our own baby... though I did think about just "accidentally" dunking her during the ceremony this weekend. I restrained myself. With effort.
Happy Monday, friends! I'm off to see how much laundry I can finish during nap time.
