We wrapped up everything this weekend! It's all over and I'm so relieved and pleased to have met our goals for the year. It wasn't always pretty, but it all was eventually checked off the list. Now, on to summer fun!
Eating from the garden! I roasted some bigger tomatoes with onions for most of the afternoon for tomato sauce. We also made the first salsa of the season this weekend with our peppers and onions. I have panzanella on my mind for later this week - cucumbers, red pepper, sourdough... I hesitate to say this, but food sort of tastes good again. I haven't been sick in about a week now. True, it's long overdue but I'll take it.
I'm supposed to be working on lesson plans, but I think I mentioned - it's going slowly. I can't concentrate on much right now. But I am very excited about all our plans. I just cut my goal from completing plans for the first 20 weeks to the first 4 or so. But I used a cute font! Fun colors! They are good plans.
My children spent the last two days playing in those cheapo pools from WalMart. People with real pools probably pity us, but they have so much fun in these and go to bed pleasantly exhausted every night. Even I enjoy sitting out in the backyard with my feet splish-splashing in the little pool.
I finally committed to a book - Isaac's Storm. I've wanted to read it for ages. The style is less objective than I'd like, but I'm really enjoying learning about the history of meteorology. It never once occurred to me that nothing was known about hurricanes. I mean, of course, but I had just never thought about it.
That's all for tonight. I hope you had a lovely day, friends!
