It's a girl!
We had a sonogram last Thursday. My husband and I are enthusiastic about finding out what sort of baby we are expecting. So much so that we can't even have a balanced conversation about it - or any conversation at all. It starts out with me trying to play the other side and ends two seconds later. We want to know as soon as possible.
My daughter is thrilled. My son is too. Though my husband claims he didn't care one way or the other, I was definitely hoping for a sister for my children. Not because I favor girls over boys - anyone who has seen me with my son will assure you that that is not the case. It's just that I can't imagine life without my two sisters, my best friends. Now that I write that though, I realize my brothers are my best friends too. I can't talk to any of them on the phone right now because they make me laugh so hard I throw up. The only thing I know for sure is that I'm glad I don't have a say in the matter. I'm so, so grateful for this third child.
so exciting!

Everyone here is so excited for you and because they have a baby sister, not ashamed to admit that they were definitely rooting for your kids to get a baby sister!
And I doubt your brothers will take any offense at that last part. I'd be willing to bet that they are patting themselves on the back for being able to make you laugh so hard you throw up and feeling giddy over the fact that the blog world now knows it!

Oh, Jennifer, Congratulations! Hurray for all things girl and sister and pink. I laughed so hard at your comment about your brothers making you ill. My girls came over to see what I was hooting about, and I said look out, because it could happen to you someday. (They love their brothers so much and nothing makes them laugh so hard as those dear big brothers.) Do enjoy all that luscious pink yarn!

What a darling post, Jenn! It made me smile so much! I am so ecstatic for you and your family! Enjoy that pink yarn. :) And I just know that your sweet kids are going to be excellent big siblings!
PS - And what a blessing that you are so close to your siblings! That is a pure gift! One that I often wish I had; I am an only child ...

Oh it's so exciting to find out as soon as possible, I agree! And then, truly, the naming discussions are so much easier, having set aside half of the possibilities.
And yes, indeed -- have fun with all the pink! :-)

Joy! Not only because every baby is a joy and not only because little girls are so much more fun to dress, but joy because your son gets to have a little sister he can make laugh, and he can protect ... and your baby girl gets to have a big brother, which surely must be the best thing ever. I always wanted one! (And of course your eldest girl, how wonderful for her, to have a sister!)
You are so blessed with your siblings. My brother lives very far away and is busy with his own family. I deeply regret only being able to have one child myself. I'm so very. very happy for you.

(I hope you know I didn't mean to trivialize the fact that you still feel so crummy. I just think it's grand how close you are with your brothers and they can make you laugh so, even if it is perilous. I'm sorry you're still so ill. Someday you will feel better, and you'll have a baby too.)

Somehow I missed this post until now. How very sweet and how lucky are both your children. And are you sure Charlotte doesn't know our brothers?
