This is it. An onion that we missed this summer. I changed my mind about planting a fall garden, save for a few violas and mums (so far..). It seems irresponsible or foolish to plant in the middle of a drought. I am planting garlic soon, in the hopes that the situation will improve in the spring.
My daughter woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me it was raining. It's good news and all, but it could have waited until morning. When will my children start to respect the fact that I am asleep?
We'll have an indoorsy sort of day today. It's Science day - tons of picture books and very little table work. Science day is the best. I downloaded The House of Seven Gables (free, high five), which I started but never finished, I hope to wrap up my shawl, and try this recipe for dinner - oooh, with the sweet potato biscuits from this post - though seriously, I think I might have to splurge on a heart shaped biscuit cutter, because how cute is that?
I have leftover mashed sweetpotatoes in the fridge from making a pie last week. I know what we are having tomorrow!
