I don't have time to spin in the fall. It's taken me weeks to manage a tiny 1.75 ounces. But oh, it's so lovely. I do wish I had to time to finish the rest of the braid. Since that is unlikely any time soon, I'll go ahead and post a glamour shot. ;)
This is my first braid from Fat Cat Knits 'Wizard Island'. I'm impressed. I ordered merino and it was fluffy and not at all dense or felted like some braids can be. I got about 130 something yards, chain plied. Not bad for half a braid and quite a bit better than I get with superwash merino.
The weighing of my teeny tiny little skeins.
I haven't had much time for knitting lately either. Rather, all my current knitting requires a paper pattern and that's tricky to manage on the go. I need to cast on some basic, mindless socks to keep my hands busy. They are the perfect travel project.
I've been parenting on my own for a good bit of this month. I'm uncomfortably busy and I'm trying to figure out if I need to change our schedule somehow, put the children in regular school, or start drinking. One of those things. But I shall not make any hasty decisions (or hit the liquor store) until my husband returns because that might immediately and dramatically improve my outlook. I miss him.
Gorgeous!

One of those things? How about ALL of them? ;)

But on a serious note...
When I find myself uncomfortably busy, I try very HARD to be present to the moment. So, for example, if I have to get my boy across town for baseball, I try try TRY to note the beauty along the way.
Plus baseball games are outside, usually, and it's good for the psyche to be outside. (Assuming it's not, like, 100 degrees anymore.)
So count those blessings and bask...
breathe...
and keep one on that sweet little boy, who is ever so blessed to have his mama at his ball game.

I try never to make big changes when husband is gone. The nerves are more frayed and my thought processes are skewed.
I'm sorry he's gone so much.
I do know I drink a lot more margaritas when Ben's away. :)

Oh KC, its nothing compared to what you go through and I know that. Youre kind not to mock me for being such a wimp.

That is the prettiest yarn picture ever. I love those colors. Yeah..my husband hasn't deployed in 4 years and I still whine when he works a few hours later than usual. I'm such a baby. What can I say, it's just so nice to be together as a family. When I feel like my schedule is too busy, I pull a PJ day and we sit around, relax, eat our favorite foods, and read aloud. That always seems to slow things down a little.
