My first handspun socks turned our just as I'd hoped. I ended up with a sport weight yarn and had enough left over for American Girl leg warmers (which are on the needles and stashed in my purse for any emergency knitting needs). I used the Sell Your Sole sock pattern for sport weight socks and knit this on US 2.5 DPNs.
I was worried about this yarn creating a more fragile fabric for socks, but I think the opposite may be true. I was able to control the twist and I hope they will wear well through this winter. Although to be frank, I've given up on winter entirely. See also: the possibility of it ever raining again. These huge trees are dying all over town. It's so depressing.
Anyway! I planned on that being my last spin this summer season. I'm pretty sure I don't have the time to sneak in one more, but it's still so darn hot that I can just picutre the happy site of freshly spun yarn hanging to dry in the sun. We'll see! If not, I'm pleased with my summer spins.
GORGEOUS! I love the colorway and the spinning is very even ...
you go, girl!

Those colors are gorgeous! I know what you mean about losing hope for winter. But I saw that there is actually a hurricane out there who might have a hankering to come our way. The weathermen keep saying we need a rain with a name. Come on Irene!

They look great! I love those colors. {I can't even talk about the weather anymore...}

Lovely as always, Jenn.
I'm a cranky mom. It needs to cool off soon. But, I'd take the heat if it would rain. The lakes are so low, it's scary.

LOVE these! Can I touch your needles. Maybe some of the magic will rub off. ;)
...btw, these colors remind me of the creek we played in today. The water, rocks and plants/moss are all included. Beautiful!

Beautiful socks made even more satisfying I imagine by the fact that you spun the yarn yourself. Congratulations!
