I haven't posted in days. Do you want to know why? I've been messing around with my new toy! When I switched to the smaller, newer car I noticed it had a plug-in thingy for an IPod. How about that! So I thought I'd invest in one to hold all of our audiobooks and music. And then, on the advice of some super friends, I bumped up to an ITouch.
I resisted the pull of these devices for a long time. I mocked those who stood in line (overnight?) to get the newest gadget. I loathed staring at the backsides of everyone's IPhones for hours in waiting rooms and restaurants. It all reminded me of that horrible Wall-E movie where everyone is in a daze, connected to their machines.
Now? I kind of love it! I can wake up to chirping birdies! I can check my email in the bedroom after waking up to chirping birdies! I can do some sort of workout log that I haven't figured out yet. I can take those cool, funky 1960s looking photos!
But I didn't fall hard until this morning when I downloaded Bird's Eye Lite. See:
That's my baby seeing if he can match up the bird songs with the pictures in his books. He can. He's brilliant. (I might be biased.)
It's just a good thing. I really think it is. I roll my eyes at how much I resist change and new technology for no good reason. I thought I'd be online all the time if I had the chance, but I think I'm actually online less because while I can do a quick email check, the screen size doesn't encourage one to linger. It did take me a billion hours to figure out how to transfer everything and I may have broken the internet in the process. (Y'all, I went two days without internet connection and didn't kill, or even yell at, anyone. Can I get a round of applause or a big chocolate cake?)
So... favorite apps? I'm looking for a pleasant rosary in English or Latin or both, it matters not. My Dad said there is one that allows you to see who in the world is praying the Liturgy of the Hours with you - how cool is that? I'm also very, very into anything science and nature related.
Well, I scoff at them, too, but fact is, they can do a lot of really cool things. Fortunately, I really can't it afford it now. Or I would totally be sucked in!

divinveoffice.org will let you see who's praying the hours along with you--all over the world.
And this is my favorite rosary app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rosary-miracle-prayer/id373335581?mt=8
I hear you about resisting technology, only to find it wasn't "the dark side" after all:-)

Congratulations. I like them, too.
But I haven't been posting because I am old, hot, and generally in a bad mood.
Maybe I need to upgrade to an iPad :)

Enjoy! I like them too. :) Actually, I love my iTouch and IPhone. I keep my To Do lists on them and can get little beeping reminders when I should be doing something, and I can read digital library books on it ....
