Carols
Fragrant spices (and flour covered little noses)
Prayer and mulled cider
Scattered chocolate coins, packages of warm jammies in their shoes, and an early morning reading of The Miracle of St. Nicholas.
Here's a distracted but festive mom idea: Pancakes can look like gold coins in you make them small enough. ;) Which I'm doing right this second. Happy Monday friends!
Love the pancake idea - I have to remember that one for next year since I can never find any safe chocolate coins! Happy St. Nicholas Day to you and yours!

Beautiful! In our country, small pancakes are called pikelets and they are an actual thing. I make them at least once a week in my house. If you google pikelets, you'll undoubtedly find a recipe.

If there was the sort of magic that would allow me to relive my childhood, I'd want you to be my mom. I love the creative, gentle, loving care you give to everything you do with your children Jenn. xo

What Sarah said. (Although I think pikelets are a little bit different to pancakes. I have the best pikelet recipe in the world, if you want me to send you a copy.)

What great ideas and beautiful pictures. How have I never had mulled cider? Maybe I have, and just didn't know it.
