ETA: Stop the presses! The #1 most awesome highlight of my year was meeting Margaret from Minnesota. I just didn't mention it with the first publication so as not to make you all jealous again.
A year in blogging:
April: I held my new nephew for the first time and rejoiced over an Icelandic volcano that kept my sister in Texas for a little bit longer. My daughter was cast in her second ballet, in a small but memorable role (for me, at least!).
June: I met K.C.! Not documented, but I had a rather alarming panic attack and understood (yet again) the healing, calming power of confession. We returned to the place our souls call home (what a dorky thing to write, but it's true)
July: We rafted the Rio Grande and visited San Francisco de Asis.
August: My baby started Kindergarten right here at home.
September: We raised a big bunch of butterflies.
November: We carved out time in the "woods".
December: We had a very pleasant Advent and remembered what mattered most. I didn't get to all our picture books or crafts, but we prayed the Liturgy of the Hours every day (or at least every night). We survived another Nutcracker season. We valued flexibility over tradition and went out to eat for Christmas Eve dinner. I finished all my Christmas knitting. Whew!
