You funny little hedgehog. Don't you know that animals don't wear clothes?
- The Hat
I've had this project in my head for such a long time! My son loves Hedgie from Jan Brett's The Hat. So when I saw this pattern and then saw this pattern... well put the two together! Once I actually cast on it only took maybe an hour to complete the hedgehog. The sock is worked flat and is a fun pattern for learning color work.
- For the body: Paton's Classic Tweed in Chestnut (worked on US 5 - I wanted a tight fabric as it was to be stuffed)
- For the Face: Haneke Wool Exotics Merino/Linen in Natural (worked on US 2)
- For the Eyes and nose: Sunshine Classic scraps from the House Color Collection
- For the sock: Sunshine Classic Gryffindor Red and Haneke Wool Exotics (worked on US 2)
I was going to make our traditional Epiphany pizzelles, but as of 9:00am I don't have it in me to get out one more stick of butter. We'll see how I'm feeling at tea time.
And wow, it really seems as if this is becoming a knitting blog. I have no excuse but the cold gray skies.
That is SO adorable!!
