This was my midmorning snack. I play around with tomato varieties every year and across the board, my yellow tomatoes are the most delicious. And there is the added bonus that the mockingbirds don't help themselves before I have the opportunity to pluck the little gems off the vine. I checked for a name tag this morning hidden somewhere in the soil, but it is long gone (my apologies). We grew a yellow pear tomato - or was it grape? - last year that would do very nicely on a patio in a pot. Anyway, try getting off the beaten path when it comes to vegetable gardening. It isn't always successful for us - some of the heirloom varieties aren't suited to our climate (at least that's what I tell myself when the shrivel and die). And, I must confess that I don't think I could ever eat those blue potatoes Martha talks about from time to time. Ew.
